In the industrial sector, choosing the right material is not merely a logistical decision, but a strategic one. The type of steel sheet selected directly influences strength, durability, machinability, and even the project’s total costs.
At Ferex Partner SRL, we frequently encounter projects that have experienced delays or required adjustments due to an incorrect material choice. That is why we aim to be more than just a supplier – we are a technical partner that helps customers make the right decisions from the very beginning.
Why is choosing the right type of steel sheet so important?
Every industrial application – whether involving metal structures, enclosures, fabricated components, or mechanical parts – has specific requirements regarding strength, appearance, dimensional tolerances, and processing behaviour. Choosing the wrong material may result in:
- Unnecessary use of resources (avoidable costs)
- Insufficient strength or performance
- Difficulties with welding, bending, or painting
- Reduced durability in corrosive environments
What types of steel sheet do we offer, and when are they recommended?
Black steel sheet (hot-rolled)
Ideal for structural elements, welded frames, and heavy-duty construction. It is robust, economical, and easy to process, but requires corrosion protection in exposed environments.
Pickled steel sheet
Recommended for applications requiring a clean and smooth surface (e.g. enclosures, equipment, and painted parts). Chemical pickling removes the oxide layer and prepares the material for subsequent treatments.
Galvanized steel sheet
It is used where long-term corrosion protection is required: outdoor structures, panels, cladding, and electrical enclosures. Galvanizing provides an extended service life without the need for additional treatments.
How can we help you make the right choice?
